CLIENT BRIEF
The client wanted to significantly improve ground floor living space while modernising the interior throughout the property. The key objective was to create a large open-plan kitchen and family area suitable for everyday living and entertaining, while also upgrading finishes, improving natural light and enhancing the overall flow between rooms.
Working closely with the client and their appointed design professionals, we reviewed layout proposals and construction detailing to ensure the scheme was practical, structurally sound and aligned with the desired specification.
Structural Works &
Extension Construction
The rear extension was designed to provide a generous open-plan environment connecting kitchen, dining and living spaces. Construction works included excavation and new foundations, installation of structural steel beams to create wide openings, and the formation of a new external envelope that integrated seamlessly with the existing building.
Careful attention was given to matching brickwork, roof detailing and window positioning to ensure the extension felt like a natural continuation of the original property. Large glazed openings were introduced to maximise daylight and create a stronger connection between the internal space and garden.
Handmade Kitchen Installation
A central feature of the project was the installation of a bespoke handmade kitchen, designed to suit both the scale of the extension and the client’s lifestyle requirements.
The kitchen incorporated custom-built cabinetry, high-quality work surfaces and carefully planned storage solutions, along with integrated appliances and feature lighting. Precise coordination between joinery, electrical and plumbing trades was essential to achieve a clean and refined finish.
