WHAT WE DO

PROJECTS

CLIENT BRIEF

The client approached us with the intention of replacing an outdated single-storey bungalow with a more substantial family home that would better suit their long-term needs. The brief focused on increasing accommodation, improving layout flow and natural light, and creating a property that would sit comfortably within the surrounding street scene while offering a strong internal specification.

Working alongside the appointed architect and structural engineer, we reviewed the proposed plans in detail to ensure the design was both practical to construct and aligned with the client’s expectations for quality and finish.

Demolition & Site Preparation

The project began with the careful demolition of the existing bungalow. All works were carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, including controlled strip-out, waste segregation and responsible material disposal.

Following clearance of the site, we undertook ground investigations and prepared the foundations in line with structural engineer specifications. Accurate setting out was critical to ensure the new dwelling sat correctly within the footprint and complied fully with planning approval.

Construction of the New Chalet-Style Home

The new five-bedroom chalet-style house was constructed using traditional building methods, incorporating robust foundations, high-quality brickwork and a carefully detailed roof structure to achieve the characteristic chalet profile.

Key elements of the build included:

• Reinforced cantilevered piled raft.

• Structural steel installation where required

• Timber roof construction with dormer detailing

• High-performance insulation to meet current building regulations

• Installation of energy-efficient windows and doors

• Carefully coordinated first and second fix internal works

Particular attention was given to achieving clean roof lines, balanced elevations and well-proportioned dormers to ensure the finished property complemented neighbouring homes.

Completion & Final Outcome

The completed home provides five well-proportioned bedrooms, generous open-plan living areas and a practical layout suited to modern family life. Internally, finishes were delivered to a high standard, while externally the property benefits from improved kerb appeal and enhanced site presence compared to the original bungalow.

This project demonstrates our ability to manage a complete replacement dwelling — from demolition and groundwork through to full construction and final handover — ensuring every stage is delivered with careful planning, coordination and attention to detail.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE
"We couldn’t be happier with the home that was built for us. From the very first meeting, it was clear we were working with someone who genuinely cares about quality, detail, and delivering exactly what their client envisions. Every stage of the process was handled with professionalism, transparency, and a level of craftsmanship that truly exceeded our expectations.
What stood out most was the attention to detail and the willingness to go above and beyond. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and every question or concern we had was dealt with promptly and honestly. The project stayed on track, communication was excellent throughout, and the end result is a home that feels both beautifully designed and solidly built to last.
The finish is outstanding—every element, from the structure to the smallest details, reflects pride in the work. It’s rare to find someone who combines technical expertise with such a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Essex elite services to anyone."
